Once upon a time, there was a girl who, in the early morning dew, tiptoed in her nightgown, barefoot, to the vegetable patch in her yard to admire the dewdrops, sniff the flowers, and pop peas into her mouth.
The girl often ventured into the forest behind her home and the bog area, climbing trees and paddling across the bog with a makeshift oar fashioned from a branch.
The girl collected flowers from her yard and the forest, made bouquets from them, which she sold from a tiny flower shop she set up on the outdoor porch to her grandfather and eldest aunt – her childhood home companions.
The girl walked by herself, in her underwear, along the edge of the vegetable garden and small field at her grandmother's house, which she called Fairyland, picking cornflowers and singing: "I walk along the meadow's edge, without a shirt, no one stops me, as I make my journey..."
Similar adventures and games, with the help of her own imaginary world, just like her mother Marketta in her childhood.
That same girl, photographer, photographic artist, and amateur dancer Minna Metsärinne, created the MINNA brand based on her nature photographs.
In December 2020, the first collection, Metsärinne Original Collection, was launched as a collaboration between mother and daughter. At the same time, the online store metsarinne.com was opened, which in spring 2025 was handed over to a relative who works with wood design and photography to continue its journey.
In 2024, the Metsärinne Sauna & Spa Zero Waste Collection was born with a new resource-wise and 100% waste-free production plan, in collaboration with Sideflow Oy, which utilizes textile industry by-products.
In summer 2024, the brand participated in the World Sauna Forum in Jyväskylä as a new small newcomer among larger brands such as Harvia and Lapuan Kankurit.
In February 2026, with a brand change, the name changed from Metsärinne to Minna. The journey now continues under the brand name MINNA Design, with textiles as its main products, complemented by birch veneer trays and jewelry made of glass and steel.
Minna now adventures with her faithful friend, the dog Rambo, in Finland and around the world. In forests and fields, on the shores of lakes, rivers, streams, and seas. In stunning nature with all its nuances.
In addition to being a loyal companion and adventure buddy, Rambo the dog serves as the MINNA brand's animal ambassador, ensuring that nature and animals are considered and respected in all activities. Rambo's task is also to ensure that 5% of each product sold is donated in full to animal welfare.
Postcards of Rambo have also been printed. For each card sold, 0.50 euros is donated to animal welfare.
Minna plans her days so that both she and Rambo are content.
- Rambo and I are practically constantly together. He accompanies me both at work and in my free time.
If work involves a car trip, at some point the wheels turn towards a dog park. If there's an evening event, Rambo waits for his mistress at a rented cottage. In the evening, they take a dip in the water.
- You can hardly get Rambo out of the water. He loves swimming.
In addition to building the brand, Minna photographs, spends time in nature, dances, and practices yoga. She now dances alone or with her four-year-old goddaughter. Or teaches Bailatino® dance classes.
Minna is also an amateur dancer who draws joy and energy from dance. Her dance roots are in classical ballet, but Latin rhythms are her passion nowadays.
